The History of Bankstown City FC

by a bunch of football enthusiasts playing at a local park in
Yagoona they entering into a number of local tournaments held within
the area. All Entry costs for the tournaments were born by these
enthusiasts. Bankstown City lingered in the local competitions for
may years winning many local competitions up until 1988.
In 1988 they were promoted to New South Wales Division 2 where they
finished 3rd. The following year (1989) they were crowned Champions

clubs and its coach Papoulias leaving for Cyprus. Bankstown looked
for the services of player coach Peter Tsekenis. Restructuring the
team and directing Bankstown to its second successive championship
win over Bonnyrig white eagles 3 – 1.
