UNITED TAKE THE POINTS
Bankstown came into the game against Sydney united with 2
consecutive wins under their belt riding a high for the first time
this season. United came into the match after a draw with low placed
Marconi stallions. It was a must win match for the lions who still
hope to make the final 5, a task that was achievable
On a cold wintery Saturday night on a bumpy and slippery surface,
from the starting minute it was a hard ask for the lions, it was
made even harder by a well worked goal by United, starting on the
left hand side of the field, a cross in the Bankstown box saw United
put away a goal that sealed the lions fait for the remainder of the
game.
United were in a prime position to double their lead minutes later,
but the persistence of Josevski foiled the Glavas attempt.
In the second half united came out defending their lead with a
single striker up front and the remainder defending the lead. This
worked, and on at least two occasions caught the lions out only the
safe hands of Josevski keeping a respectable score line at the end
of the night. |
